CELEBRATING THE TRUE ARCHITECT OF MODERN EKITI

As Ekiti people look over ready in the direction to extol Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose two years in office, which is imminent, Ekiti west local government chairman Hon Kolawole Omotunde, has explicitly fulfilled that there is need to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the governor in office.

Hon Kolawole Omotunde recently point out the massive road construction and renovation projects both the completed and ongoing one in the state. He stated that both Ekiti indigenes and non-indigenes have witnessed few to be mentioned road projects within the State. He said; a visit to Awedele dual carriageway in Ado Ekiti, Ikere dual carriageway, Efon dual carriageway, recently constructed 2km asphalt in Erio and omuo carriageway would make one applaud the good work of Mr Fayose.
Kolawole disclosed that “in governor’s bid to serve the people better,  he has completed physical projects which spread across all Local government in the State. Aduni Olayinka women development center, ongoing 1.7km fly over and Ultra modern Oja Oba market in the State capital are visible even to the blind” he said. He added that; on assumption of Governor Fayose to office two years ago, Ekiti State was something else in the neighborhood of a pariah State. Infrastructure was nothing to write home about. Workers morale was down as a result of ill treatment meted on them by his predecessor.
One good thing to note is, despite the billions accumulated debt incurred by the APC led government in the State, our amiable Governor has done better. Even a blind man sees the transformation of the State from obscurity to global preeminence by Mr Fayose.
He stated that ongoing developmental process has affected all sectors of the economy ranging from; education to agriculture, commerce, security and other areas. Who is not aware of the steps taken by Ekiti State government to achieve great height in education recently? Roads, transport, health, human capital development, and youth empowerment, tourism, women empowerment, micro finance, agriculture, information, sports, housing and social security for the elderly ones among others.
“Governor Fayose two years in office is greatly satisfactory with laudable achievements. Indeed,he is a reliable leader, achiever, the face of modern Ekiti and arrow head of political philosophy in Nigeria.” Omotunde said.
On this note, the entire staffs, executive and legislative arms  celebrates the 2nd year in office of  our dynamic governor on behalf of Ekiti West Local Government.

Long Live Ekiti West!

Long live Ekiti State!!

The spirit of patience that pays resides in LERE OLAYINKA – Ajumobi

Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on New Media and Public Communication who also doubles as the Director-General of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State has been described as an epitome of patience, and humility, whose leadership quality and indefatigable capacity for hard work are worthy of recognition. While eulogizing the DG at the BSES chapel special award presentation in Ado Ekiti the permanent Secretary Min of information Mr Kola Ajumobi described Lere Olayinka’s patience, tolerance, consistency, hard-work and discipline as qualities stand him tall even in the face of provocation and subjugation.

In his words, Ajumobi said; “LIFE could be somehow funny at times, especially when the expected aren’t forthcoming.

IT could also appear cloudy and unrealistic most especially to the feeble minded but not the optimists amidst.

ABOVE all, the reality remains that, on earth in which we live, nothing, absolutely nothing pays than patience, hard work, tolerance, consistence and discipline.

DEAR Compatriots, if you have been destined to be COBBLER before becoming a DIRECTOR GENERAL, no amount of “fast forward” buttons pressed can speed up the pace of destiny.

AGAIN, if you have been divinely created to be “Agege Bread” seller before turning a MODEL- A CELEB, no amount of anointing oil can take the selling tray off your head when the appointed time is not at hand.

LERE OLAYINKA, to me and unto several others who hold beliefs in the reality of life, has exemplified what patience and perseverance spelt about life.

I wouldn’t like to mention any other person’s name here aside my subject, LERE OLAYINKA.

YOU can imagine a young man who laboured thick and thin, dry and wet, even hot and cold in supporting a personality but later became relegated all in the name of seeing purported “better” alternative who was no where when the game was hot and posting threat to security of lives, properties and even reputation.

HE never complained. He believed when the rewarder shall come, it shall be magnificent and incredible.

HASN’T the belief turned a reality today? Who could believe that relegated writer can be made a DG today in the administration of the most criticised individual in the time past?

LESSONS thus far learnt: You may cut off your head for a black person to show how supportive you are to his/her ambition, but don’t be surprised if your main body remains unattended to. Such is life!

LERE OLAYINKA has taught me and several others how to have unlimited patience in anticipation of reward, especially the deserved one.

LIKE he used to say, “whatever you will be in life, you will surely be. Don’t press button for motorcycle when pathfinder jeep was in plan for you. You may assist Mr A but to be rewarded by Mr B who genuinely felt your proficiency and output. That’s my belief and it pays me always.”

YES, Aresa Ajeje, you are a thoughtful leader. Your consistent efforts on every assignment you are given have shown to the world today that you deserve standing ovation from young and aged.

A leader that considers every part that makes a whole relevant to achieving a common goal is LERE OLAYINKA.

BEST spirit of sportsmanship and what I considered as excessive tolerance in the face of brutality and humiliation were not only found in you but cherished and saluted.

WHEN you call him Mr LERE OLAYINKA, you give him a condition to look briefly at your direction without much attention.

WHEN you call him HON. LERE OLAYINKA, definitely you wanted him to keep you at arm’s length, avoid you in totality.

WHAT he ever wanted and clamoured is to be simply addressed as LERE OLAYINKA and you will have his total attention. What a humble leader!

BE that as it may, he has made his name. He has done the assigned. He has gone through hell of intimidation and humiliation. He has faced several societal conundrums and exigencies. He therefore deserved to be honoured today and always.

MAY I therefore crave your indulgence as I recite his native cognomen (Oriki) as follows:

Adisa,

Ajeje Ara Iresa

Omo Abelepo pon.

Omo Epo omo Ewa

Belepo pon Ajeje

Elegbeje Ope.

Ope t’Egbewa so t’Egbewa eso

Ekuro rigidi loyimi tile l’Ajeje.

Mo subu yege mot’enu bo’gba epo

Mo t’agbon isale bo’yo lade

Epo nbe nile Elegbeje ope

Ekuro nbe legbeje ope

Iha nbe legbeje ope

Sugudu nbe legbeje ope.

Won ni kin ni o gbemi nile Elegbeje ope?

Moni atikin atiwa ni o gbemi nile Elegbeje ope Ajeje ara Iresa.

THAT is the LERE OLAYINKA for you.
The SA we cherished, The DG we honoured,
The LEADER we followed.”

Ekiti Opens bid for flyover, new King’s Market

In a rare display of transparency in governance, Ekiti State Government on Thursday publicly opened the bids for the construction of a New Oja Oba and a flyover in Ado-Ekiti, the State Capital.

The event, according to the Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement, Chief Segun Akinwumi, was a testimony to the transparent manner the administration has been handling public finances and projects.

Akinwumi, who also doubles as the Special Adviser on Due Process, said the state government advertised twice in four newspapers(The Sun, Tribune, Punch and The Guardian) seeking bids for the projects and three firms put in bids for the market, while one did for the flyover.

Those who tendered bids for the market were Time Building and Construction Company Limited which put in N3.66 billion, Tiangen Nigeria Limited which put in N3.33 billion while Kaymon Construction Nigeria Limited put forward a bid of N3.06 billion.

The state’s Ministry of Works estimated the project to cost N3.19 billion.

For the flyover, the only bidder, Kopek Construction Nigeria Limited put in a bid of N5.81 billion while the ministry’s estimate was N5.85 billion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner for Works and Transportation in Ekiti State, Mr Kayode Osho, described the projects as landmarks and gave the assurance that they would not be abandoned.

“The projects are landmark and are in line with the efforts of the administration to impact positively on the lives of the people of the state. Adequate steps have been taken to ensure they are not abandoned.

Tender notice on airstrip was put on hold for the state government to resolve the issues of enumeration and compensation of affected farmers.

“All the bids will be passed to consultants already recruited and they will analyse the bids and subsequently advise the state executive council.

The consultants will dig into the technical and other abilities of the companies to handle the jobs.

They have 48 hours to do the analysis and after this, the state executive council will act. The projects will start within the next two to three weeks. We apologize for the delay in starting these projects,” he said.
